Data Backup

To make your system more reliable, UserGate Mail Server allows you to do user setting and mailbox backup. The backup task starts automatically and can be scheduled by the system administrator.

You can use Data Backup Settings to set the frequency of full backup and differential backup and select the folder to store your backup copies, as well as specify the number of recent copies to be saved by the server. All earlier copies will be automatically deleted.

Full mail server backup will create a number of files with the following content: database dump (PostgreSQL), SQL instruction file, configuration file and folder with user mailbox database. Backup log (including time, file type and file name) is saved as a special XML file.
